Frequently Asked Questions

What are credits and how are they used?
Credits are Tracenable’s usage currency. You spend credits when you take actions like exporting datasets, pulling data via API, accessing corporate disclosures, or tracing datapoints back to source. Each action has a fixed credit cost, shown in the credit actions table.
Do unused credits from a previous month roll over?
Yes. Unused credits never expire while your subscription is active. If you cancel your subscription, unused credits are deleted.
Can I buy additional credits if I run out?
Yes. If you need additional credits, contact our team and we’ll help you top up your balance.
Can I try Tracenable for free?
Yes. When you sign up, you get a 30-day free trial that includes 500 credits to explore datasets and disclosures, run exports and API pulls, and evaluate your workflows before subscribing.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. Unused credits are deleted when the subscription ends.
What license do I get on Pro? How can I use the data?
During an active subscription, Pro grants you a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use the data for internal business purposes (for example analysis, research, planning, strategy, and decision-making). You may also create derived data and share reports or outputs internally or externally, as long as they include only insubstantial portions of the data, include required attribution (“Source: Tracenable” with a link where feasible), and are not shared in bulk or machine-readable form (for example CSV, JSON, or database dumps). Redistribution of the data or providing it as a data feed is not permitted on Pro. If you need broader rights such as redistribution, white-label use, or organization-wide licensing, contact us.
Can I change tiers or billing frequency later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan and switch billing frequency at any time. If you make a change mid billing cycle, we prorate subscription fees and prorate your plan’s credit allowance for the remainder of the cycle.
Can I share data with my team?
Pro is designed for an individual user. If you want to share data across a team or an entire organization, contact us to discuss options.
Do you provide discounts?
Yes. Yearly billing is available and typically offers better value than monthly. For larger commitments or enterprise deployments, we can offer custom pricing and terms. We are also happy to support NGOs and startups with limited budgets. Contact us to discuss options.
Is it safe to buy a subscription on Tracenable?
Yes. Your payments are secure. Tracenable does not store any of your payment credentials. Your payment information is encrypted and passed directly to our PCI-compliant payment provider (Paddle), ensuring a safe and reliable experience when managing your subscription.
